Adult Krav Maga

Practical self-defence for everyday people

Our Adult Krav Maga classes are designed for people who want realistic self-defence training, improved fitness and greater confidence, without ego or intimidation.

Training is practical, structured and focused on real-life situations. You don’t need to be fit to start and you don’t need any previous experience. We build skills progressively, explain things properly and make sure everyone understands what they’re doing and why.

This isn’t about being aggressive.
It’s about being capable.

Is Adult Krav Maga right for you?

Adult Krav Maga is suitable if you:

  • Want practical self-defence skills
  • Are looking to improve fitness and confidence
  • Prefer structured training with clear goals
  • Are a complete beginner or returning to training
  • Want a no-ego, supportive environment

You don’t need to be fit.
You don’t need experience.
You just need to start.

What you’ll learn

Adult Krav Maga focuses on skills that make sense in real life.

Training develops:

  • Awareness and decision-making under pressure
  • Striking and movement
  • Close-range control and clinching
  • Defences against common attacks
  • Ground survival and getting back up
  • Confidence and stress management

Skills are trained progressively and always with safety and control in mind.

How classes are structured

Consistency and structure are key to long-term progress.

A typical Adult Krav Maga class includes:

  • Warm-up and movement
  • Technical skill development
  • Drills and controlled partner work
  • Scenario-based training
  • Conditioning and cool down

You’ll always know what you’re working on and how it fits into the bigger picture.

Cycle-based training approach

Adult Krav Maga at Iron Skull Gym follows a cycle-based training structure.

Training is organised into themed cycles that focus on specific areas of self-defence and performance. Each cycle builds skills progressively and helps you understand how different elements connect.

Example cycle themes include:

  • Striking & Movement Under Pressure
  • Clinching, Control & Takedowns
  • Ground Survival & Getting Up
  • Multiple Attackers & Decision Making
  • Weapons Awareness (stick and knife)
  • Integrated Fighting & Scenarios

Cycles repeat and build over time, so joining mid-cycle is never a problem. You won’t be left behind or expected to already know everything.

Safety and training standards

Training is realistic, but safety always comes first.

  • Classes are closely supervised
  • Techniques are taught progressively
  • Contact is controlled and appropriate
  • No uncontrolled sparring
  • Clear boundaries and rules are enforced calmly

You’ll be challenged, but never thrown in at the deep end.

Progress and grading

Adult Krav Maga follows the official KMG grading system.

Gradings take place every 6 months and give structure and direction to training. Progress is based on:

  • Consistency and attendance
  • Understanding of skills
  • Ability to apply techniques under pressure
  • Attitude and behaviour

Grading is not rushed and not mandatory. It’s there to support learning and provide clear milestones, not to add pressure.

How getting started works

We don’t offer free trials for adults.

Instead, new members start with a paid adult intro option. This allows you to:

  • Train properly in real classes
  • Experience the atmosphere and coaching
  • Decide if Krav Maga is right for you without pressure

Beginners are always welcome and supported from day one.
