Juniors Krav Maga
(Ages 8–11)

Confidence, focus and practical self-defence skills for growing kids

Our Juniors Krav Maga programme is designed for children aged 7–11 who are ready for more structure, responsibility and confidence-building challenges.

Classes focus on developing confidence, discipline and self-control while teaching age-appropriate self-defence skills in a safe, supportive environment. Training is practical but always controlled, with clear boundaries and expectations.

This isn’t about aggression or fighting.
It’s about helping children feel capable, calm and prepared for everyday situations.

Learning Krav Maga at Iron Skull Gym

Is Juniors Krav Maga right for your child?

This programme is ideal for children who:

  • Are aged 8 to 11
  • Need confidence and structure
  • Benefit from clear rules and routines
  • Want to feel stronger and more capable
  • Are shy, anxious or lacking confidence
  • Have lots of energy and need focus and discipline

No previous martial arts experience is required.

What your child will learn

Juniors Krav Maga focuses on both personal development and practical skills.

Children work on:

  • Confidence and self-belief
  • Focus and listening skills
  • Discipline and self-control
  • Respect for others
  • Basic self-defence techniques
  • Awareness and decision-making

Skills are taught progressively, with an emphasis on control, safety and understanding.

How Juniors classes are structured

Structure is key for this age group.

Every Juniors class follows a clear format:

  • Warm-up and movement
  • Technical skill introduction
  • Controlled drills and partner work
  • Scenario-based exercises (age-appropriate)
  • Cool down and recap

Children know what’s expected of them, which helps them feel confident and focused.

Safety and coaching standards

Safety is always a priority.

  • Classes are closely supervised
  • Techniques are adapted for age and ability
  • No uncontrolled sparring
  • Clear behaviour rules are enforced calmly
  • Coaches step in early when support is needed

Training is challenging, but never overwhelming.

Progress with purpose

Juniors Krav Maga uses a belt and stripe system to give children clear goals and motivation.

Progress is based on:

  • Effort and consistency
  • Understanding of skills
  • Behaviour and attitude
  • Personal development

There is no pressure to rush.
Progress happens when the child is ready.

How our juniors programme works

Our Juniors programme runs on a term-based system, aligned with the school year.

  • Children train as part of a structured term
  • New starters join at specific points
  • This helps maintain consistency and focus within the class

Because of this, trials are not open all year round.

  •

When a new term is approaching, we open:

At the start of each term, we open a limited trial window. During this time, children can attend a trial class before committing to the full term.

Trials are available for three weeks only at the beginning of the term.

After the trial window closes, classes continue as a closed group for the rest of the term to support consistency, confidence and progression.

This helps us:

  • Manage class sizes properly
  • Maintain a positive learning environment
  • Help new children settle in smoothly

What happens when you join the waiting list

If trials are not currently open:

  • You can join the waiting list
  • We’ll contact you when trial bookings open
  • There’s no obligation to continue

Parents often prefer this, as it gives time to prepare children and choose the right moment to start.
